I have many years of experience doing mild to severe rosacea treatments. With a combination treatment of Laser and IPL it results in better overall cosmetic outcomes.
Laser targets the middle layers of the skin and is more effective at treating the deeper vascular tissue and destroying deeper vessels. It also helps with the texture of the skin, improving pustules, redness and creating new collagen. With the skin at an increased temperature it gives the IPL a larger target and better absorption at the upper levels of the skin than without.
By using this approach that views rosacea as a vascular disorder that has pathology in different layers of the skin it will improve treatment outcomes.
This patient with severe nodular rosacea received a total of 5 combination treatments spaced 4 weeks apart. Patient noted improvement in redness, scarring, thickness of plaques and pustules and was extremely happy with the results.
